With anticipation building and so many interested participants for the Miss Black Queens New York, USA Pageant, executive producer, Tiffany Braxton Belvin, will hold the first open casting call on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 1 pm – 4 pm at the Simply to Empower Bookstore, 189-28 Linden Boulevard, Saint Albans, NY.

The open call will allow potential candidates to submit an application, learn more about the pageant, and allow the organizers to learn about the young ladies and their respective social platform. Each candidate must have a social cause or platform in which they have or would like to work on in order to promote social awareness. These platforms could range from issues such as domestic violence, literacy, homelessness or healthcare.

This evening, during one of the year’s most exciting live television events, a star-studded panel of judges chose Miss North Carolina USA, Kristen Dalton, as MISS USA(R) 2009. “My Name is Earl” star Nadine Velazquez and Billy Bush of “Access Hollywood” hosted the 58th Annual MISS USA Pageant from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in one of the world’s most electrifying cities, Las Vegas.

Ms. Dalton is a talented singer and dancer who completed her degree in Psychology and Spanish at East Carolina University. She’s not the only pageant winner in her family. Her mother was Miss North Carolina USA in 1982 and her sister was Miss North Carolina Teen USA in 2008.
