Cornell University and Sathguru to Deliver Hotel Management Program
The hospitality industry in the Asia Pacific region has come a long way from catering to a relatively small number of tourists seeking to imbibe the exotic. Today it caters to a significant number of business travelers, and is host to delegates of international conferences. If one includes the large influx of visitors expected from high-profile international sporting events, exhibitions and festivals, the cliché that the hospitality industry “is on a role” may seem inadequate in describing actuality.
While the demand for hospitality services has risen, there has also been a proportional increase in the number of industry players. The economic development in India and South Asia, and parts of the Middle East and Asia Pacific has triggered massive investments in the hospitality sector. The competition among these players to woo customers has risen in intensity. This means that establishing leadership in this very vibrant and growing industry requires organizations to adopt sound strategies, apply best practices and maximize revenue through customer focused innovative strategies that ensure leadership in emerging markets.
In this backdrop, Sathguru Management Consultants in association with Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration is pleased to announce the third annual Hotel Management Program on “Managing Strategic Growth and Leadership in Emerging Markets” to be held from 11 — 15 August, 2008 at ICRISAT, Hyderabad. The program will focus on three distinct components—Strategic Planning, Strategic Marketing and Revenue Optimization—and is meant for managing directors, vice presidents, general managers, senior executives and also functional heads tipped to shoulder higher responsibilities in hotel groups or individual properties.
