Indian Navy’s mercy mission
The Indian Navy was on a mercy mission today afternoon, when it evacuated an electrocution casualty from Kalpeni Island by a Naval Seaking helicopter. Mr Sayyed Muhammed Koya Age 43, an employee of the electricity department of Lakshadweep administration was admitted to Cochin Hospital, post evacuation.
The evacuation by the Navy was in response to a request from the Lakshadweep administration. Commander AS Dhillon and Lieutenant Commander Paramjit Singh were the pilots from INS Garuda who carried out the evacuation mission, in inclement weather.
Kalpeni island lies in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, India.
