Ali Fazal is nominated for Best Actor in the Asia Content Awards by the Busan International Film Festival for his role as Ipsit Nair in ‘Forget Me Not,’ one of four films in the Ray anthology on Netflix.

The film is a modern adaptation of Satyajit Ray’s story “Bipin Chaudhary Ka Smriti Bhram,” directed by Srijith Mukherji. Ali plays a ruthless business shark with the memory of a computer who never forgets anything.

In response to the nomination, Ali remarked in a statement, “Wow! This came as a complete surprise. I am deeply honored to have received this nomination, and it means a great deal to be recognized by ACA. There was a lot of outstanding content generated in Asia this year, and to be nominated alongside such an impressive roster of films and stars is an honor.”

Nushrratt Bharuccha has also been nominated for Best Actress for her work in Netflix’s ‘Ajeeb Daastaans.’

The Asian Contents & Film Market of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) hosts the 3rd Asian Contents Awards (ACA) (ACFM). The ACA aspires to highlight excellent Asian TV, OTT, and online programming. Korean drama and Netflix originals ruled the ACA this year.

Sayantan Mukherjee’s ‘Ray’ is an Indian anthology drama web series on Netflix based on Satyajit Ray’s works. Srijit Mukherji, Vasan Bala, and Abhishek Chaubey direct the series. Ajit Andhare, Tipping Point, and Viacom18 Studios are the producers. Manoj Bajpayee, Harshvardhan Kapoor, and Kay Kay Menon also star in the series. The series premiered on Netflix on June 25.
