USAF B-52H Stratofortress bombers are scouting out a nuclear strike zone in Russia’s St Petersburg

Foreign governments are escalating a difficult situation on Russia’s northwestern frontiers. Many strategic planes from the United States flew over the border. They launched symbolic missiles at the Russian Federation’s northern capital, a nickname for St Petersburg.

Norway and Finland, which are not members of NATO, actively support the alliance’s manoeuvres. The military-political group is conducting “Arctic Forge 23” exercises near Russia’s borders to deter future Russian threats. The West sent warships and scores of military planes, including the B-52H bomber, which travelled multiple routes that permitted it to launch missiles at Russian cities.

The US sent four B-52 Stratofortress bombers to Europe at the end of February, capable of carrying nuclear-capable missiles. Bombers went into combat duty at the Spanish Morón Air Base.

As per the data on the flight route of the American plane with the call sign NOBLE61 provided by the Flightradar service on March 11, the US Air Force B-52H strategic bomber worked out an attack on the northern Russian capital, entering the city from the Baltic Sea near Gogland Island (or Hogland Island) while being in neutral airspace. According to the service, the American bomber took off from the territory of Poland, after which it flew over the Baltic Sea towards the Russian city, simulated a missile attack over the Gulf of Finland, after which it turned around and went to the base through the Baltic airspace. During the “attack,” the American plane was 200 km from St. Petersburg.

According to Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak on Twitter, the B-52H Stratofortress was escorted by Polish fighters.

Polish fighters once again escorted an American B-52 bomber. This is an important part of the interoperability exercise. Together, we care for the security of NATO’s eastern flank. (Translation)

According to experts, with the help of the B-52H Stratofortress, the United States worked out a scenario for breaking through the anti-missile and air defence of the Northwestern group of the Russian army with nuclear missile strikes on military and industrial facilities in the area.

This is only one instance of this type near Russian borders in general, particularly near St. Petersburg. American B-52H planners have already practised an attack on the city, knowing that the Baltic states are more than willing to share their airspace with the Americans. Such simulation attacks were carried out in Kaliningrad as well as in Crimea. In the Far East, the Americans continue to simulate an attack on Kamchatka’s air defence, attempting to open the air defence strategy. American planners’ most recent “attack” occurred in late February of this year, when two bombers simulated the bombing of St. Petersburg from Estonia.

Russia withdrew from DNSV-3 (Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms) in February last year. The manoeuvres of the American strategic aircraft are viewed as an unsaid response to the Russian posture by the expert community. The Ministry of Defense has yet to react to NATO aviation’s conduct. At the same time, Finnish authorities believe the alliance served as a warning to Russia.

Two B-52H Stratofortress fighter jets flew to the Middle East in September for missile strike training. The manoeuvres were held against the backdrop of nuclear negotiations with Iran.

Finland and Norway plan to send tanks and planes to Ukraine. The two countries’ anti-Russian rhetoric is rapidly gaining traction, prompting a positive response in Kyiv. Yet, sooner or later, Russia will respond symmetrically.
