According to the National Energy Administration’s announcement on November 29, the installed capacity of wind power generation in China reached 30150,000 kW, doubling from 2016.

Compared to the installed capacity of wind power generation in the European Union (EU) and the United States as of the end of last year, China is 1.4 times the capacity of the EU and 2.6 times that of the United States, making it the number one in the world for 12 consecutive years.

At present, the installed capacity of wind power generation in China is about 13% of the total power generation capacity. The amount of power generation is about 7.5% of the country’s total electricity consumption.

China currently can independently develop and manufacture 1 billion kilowatt-class wind turbines and core components, and the global share of Chinese wind turbines is more than two-thirds.

India ranks 4th in the world with 39+ GW installed capacity and an estimated potential of 300+ GW. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has given the renewable energy target of 175 GW by 2022, which, like the majority of his policies, is underperforming.
