Indian National Congress (Congress) Member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Bittu took on Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Anurag Thakur for interrupting his speech in the Lok Sabha or the lower house of the parliament. Ravneet Bittu was speaking of farmers cause when Anurag Thakur tried to interupt his speech with the usual BJP charges of misleading the nation and other excuses. This led to Ravneet to retort.

“You too are from Jullundhar. You are being a traitor to Punjab? No one calls you to a meeting, nobody even asks you. You are useless, that’s why you were not made CM nor did your father was made,” said Ravneet Bittu leaving Anurag Thakur red faced.

Revolutionary Socialtist Party (RSP) MP NK Prememachandran who was in the Chair, chided Anurag Thakur by telling him that his unparliamentary words won’t be on records.

Although the BJP managed to trend against Ravneet Bittu but Ravneet Bittu won the hearts and minds of the Indian twitter usrers.

Ravneet Bittu is the grandson of Sardar Beant Singh who has been the Chief Minister (19 February 1922 – 31 August 1995) and was killed in a car bombing. Anurag Thakur is also a political dynasty and his father Prem Kumar Dhumal was former BJP Chief Minister of Himachal pradesh and not Punjab.

A FIR was filed against MP Anurag Thakur, former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and others by the Dharamshala office of the Vigilance Bureau on August 1, 2013, months after the Congress government assumed power in December 2012. On Nov 02, 2018, the Supreme Court quashed the FIR.
