The story of Briton Anthony Garnett, who had a high-profile affair with Ukrainian refugee Sofya Karkadym, which caused the collapse of his family, resumed relations with her again.
Garnett abandoned his legal wife and two children 10 days after Sofya Karkadym, a refugee from Ukraine, was placed in their house. The couple began an affair, which, however, quickly ended due to the inappropriate behavior of the Ukrainian woman and her love for alcoholic beverages. In October, 22-year-old Karkadym went back to Ukraine, to Lvov.
However, the British and Ukrainian continued to communicate on the Internet, constantly called up on video, the Daily Mail writes. And last week, Garnett decided to get back together with his former lover, for which he went to Ukraine for her.
The Briton made a long journey to the girl’s place of residence a few hours from Lviv, getting to her by plane and by bus. He was fascinated by the Karkady family.
“The welcome I received from her family was incredible… She comes from a very good family, and they are all very loving,” Garnett said.
The happy couple has already arrived back in the Briton’s homeland, Yorkshire. According to Garnett, Karkadym made him a promise “never to take a single drop of alcohol in her mouth again.” The couple has big plans for the future: Garnett is now busy looking for new housing and work, and the Ukrainian wants to study at the university.
“I think we will succeed. She is a very attractive girl, and it is always interesting to communicate with her. I want to get to know her much better, and this time we will move more slowly,” the Briton added.
