Streaming service Netflix said goodbye to another of its relatively recent series. According to Deadline, streaming has decided not to renew the mystical action drama Warrior Nun for a third season. The decision was made according to the traditional model for the platform, that is, a month after the premiere of new episodes. The reason for the cancellation is the level of costs that do not correspond to the rating. For the third season, the budget would have to increase, but the media giant considered new investments against the backdrop of weak viewer demand inappropriate.
In the centre of the plot of combat fantasy is the 19-year-old orphan Ava (Alba Baptista), resurrected with the help of an ancient artefact. After her rebirth, the loner warrior enters the narrow ranks of a secret religious order that protects humanity from dark forces. With the help of a secret society, the main character turns into a deadly weapon in the battle with numerous evil demons.
The series is based on the novels by showrunner and executive producer Simon Barry (Ghost Wars, Van Helsing). The main cast of the show also included Thekla Reuten, Christina Tonteri-Young, Toya Turner, Lorena Andrea, Olivia Delcan, Jack Malarkey, Richard Crozier, Meena Rayann and Tristan Ulloa.
