The heads of Western states, the Foreign Ministry, and public figures spoke about the situation in Bucha, which is based only on video footage, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Rossiya 1.

“But there is one point that needs to be taken into account. You look. Ask yourself a question. Heads of state, heads of foreign affairs departments, public figures, former politicians, by the way, made statements based only on video frames, literally minute video frames, in my opinion, less than a minute, a few photos, and they are ready to blame everything,” Zakharova said on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program.

“The experts didn’t work, they didn’t get any other information that could shed light on what’s going on, but political statements have already been made,” she added.

Doctored Video

Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities and the media distributed a video allegedly filmed in Bucha, where the dead bodies were lying on the road. As per the Russians, the users noticed that the “corpses” move their arms and shift their limbs to not fall under the wheels of military equipment. Also, in the rear-view mirror of the operator’s car, one can see how one of the “dead” gets up as soon as the vehicle passes by. The Russian Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that all these photo and video materials are a ‘provocation’ by the Ukrainian authorities. The MoD said that when the city was under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, not a single resident suffered from violence. The ministry noted that all Russian units left Bucha on March 30, after the Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul. Exits to the north were not blocked, while the southern outskirts, including residential areas, were shelled by Ukrainian troops around the clock.

On March 30, the day after the Russians left, the mayor of Bucha, Anatoly Fedoruk, said in his video message that there were no Russian military personnel in the city, but did not report any casualties among the civilian population, and the first “evidence of crimes” appeared only on the fourth day of the stay of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city.

Russia convenes the UN Security Council meet

Russia called for a meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday in light of the provocation of Ukrainian radicals in the city of Bucha near Kyiv, said Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative to the UN.

“In light of the blatant provocation by Ukrainian radicals in Bucha, Russia demanded the convening of a meeting of the UN Security Council on the afternoon of Monday, April 4,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Moscow pans to clear the incident and “bring presumptuous Ukrainian provocateurs and their Western patrons.”

Russia had denied a strike on the maternity hospital in Mariupol

The Russian MoD said that the Ukrainian authorities spread a similar fake about a “strike by the Russian Aerospace Forces” on a maternity hospital in Mariupol. The news was published along with photographs of pregnant women allegedly injured during the air raid. Russia had denied these accusations.

The Ministry of Defense, said the Armed Forces strike only the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops. The MoD said that by March 25, Russian troops completed the main tasks of the first stage and then they significantly reduced the presence in Ukraine. As per the Russian Military, the main goal is the liberation of Donbas.
