Mrunal Thakur has joined the cast of the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Thadam’. The film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.

Mrunal Thakur shared the news via her Instagram account.  

She wrote, “It’s time for a face-off!! @adityaroykapur are you ready? Super excited to work in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit, #Thadam….

The actress also shared a picture with her co-star Aditya Roy Kapoor. Mrunal Thakur will play the female lead in the film.  

Mrunal Thakur seems to be very excited about this new venture. For the first time, Mrunal will be seen portraying a strong-headed cop.  

In July, producers had announced the casting of Aditya Roy Kapur, who will play a double role in his career for the very first time in the Hindi remake of Thadam.

Mrunal Thakur is a Marathi mulgi who entered the world of television at an early age. She has played many interesting roles in her films and also stood out with her performances in them.  Mrunal has featured in films like Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 and John Abraham’s Batla House. The actress has not restricted herself to Hindi films only, she has acted in some Marathi films as well, like, ‘Hello Nandan’, ‘Vitti Dandu’, ‘Surajya’ and ‘Rangkarmi’. Mrunal Thakur made her international debut with an Indo-American film ‘Love Sonia’ made by ‘Life Of Pi’ producer David Womark. 

Mrunal Thakur was most recently featured in Farhan Akhtar’s Toofaan, which was released on Amazon Prime Video India. She will next be seen in Shahid Kapoor-led Jersey. 

Thadam is a Tamil thriller movie based on true events. The name of the Hindi remake of the film is yet to be decided. The movie will be directed by Vardhan Ketkar and produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. The Hindi remake of ‘Thadam’ will go on floors in October this year.
