Citron India has announced that it has entered into a strategic collaboration with Jio-bp to develop electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and services across its network. Jio-bp is a fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and BP. Jio-bp will roll out DC fast chargers throughout the country in important Citron dealerships and workshops in stages. These chargers will also be made available to electric vehicle owners to encourage more people to purchase electric vehicles.
This collaboration will make the Jio-charging bp’s infrastructure network accessible through the My Citron Connect app in preparation for the launch of the New Citron -C3 All Electric in the first quarter of 2023.
Citroen eC3
Citroen plans to introduce its first electric vehicle, which will be called the eC3 EV, to the Indian market during the first quarter of 2023. It is predicted that the premium hatchback will have a price of roughly 12 lahks and compete with the Tata Tiago EV.
The Citroen eC3 might be equipped with a 30,2 kWh battery that would power a single electric motor for its electric drivetrain. According to reports, it will produce approximately 84 horsepower and 143 Newton meters of torque. The battery pack of the eC3 is designed to provide a longer range than the Tiago EV, which can travel over 315 kilometres on a single charge.
The all-electric Citroen eC3 was sighted testing on Indian roads on December 22, with only the front wing covered in camouflage. It was believed that the charging port for the Citroen eC3 EV would be situated on the front fender. The Citroen C3 EV will likely retain the design and stance of the gasoline-powered C3, including features such as halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights, colour-coded exterior trim, and high ground clearance.
Jio-bp EV Charging Infrastructure
Jio-bp is in the process of expanding its network of electric vehicle (EV) charging and swapping stations that operate under the brand name Jio-bp pulse. The majority of Jio-bp pulse’s offerings can be accessed through the company’s smartphone app, which, among other things, allows users to easily locate electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in their area and supports digital payment methods. Jio-bp is in the process of developing an electric mobility ecosystem that will be beneficial to stakeholders across the EV value chain. Additionally, Jio-bp is expanding its Jio-bp pulse branded electric vehicle charging network by installing charging facilities at multiple touch points within cities and along major highways to make it easier for EV owners to commute both within and between cities.
