Renault India has modified all its models, including the KIGER, TRIBER, and KWID, to comply with the new BS VI Step 2 emission standards. According to a corporate press release, the new BS VI Step 2 compliance line will also feature increased safety features that are the best in class.
With the deployment of BS VI’s second phase, all Renault vehicles will be fitted with a self-diagnostic system. Along with other crucial emission devices, such as the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, the device will continuously monitor the vehicle’s emissions while in motion.
As part of the upgrade, safety features have been added to Renault’s leading product lineup – KIGER, TRIBER, and KWID. Global NCAP, the largest global automobile evaluation organisation, has awarded the Renault KIGER and the TRIBER with a 4-Star Safety Rating for Adult Occupants. While Renault KIGER offers excellent performance and a sporty driving experience, Renault TRIBER has been praised for its quality, versatility, and appealing design.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control System (TCS), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are standard on the complete Renault lineup. While ESP and TC offer vehicle stability and reduce accident risk, TPMS enables the driver to monitor and change tyre pressure continuously, improving road safety and efficiency. The Hill Start Assist (HSA) incorporated in the KIGER and TRIBER lineups and some KWID versions ensures total customer satisfaction.
The Renault KWID has revolutionised the entry-level segment in India with its SUV-inspired design language, amenities, and low cost of ownership. KWID’s new RXE variant with a 1.0L engine and MT transmission is priced competitively at INR 4.69 lakhs. The KWID lineup has Turn Indicators on the ORVM and Audio and Phone Controls on the Steering Wheel, enhancing passenger comfort.
In less than 4 metres, Renault TRIBER can hold one to seven adults. It also has one of the largest trunk capacities at 625L. The 2023 lineup features new exterior door handles with a chrome finish and seat upholstery.
The new BS VI Step 2 compliant Renault range is now available for reservation at all authorised Renault dealerships.
Renault’s Chennai production plant, Logistics and technology centre, and design studio provide a strong local presence. The 2015-launched Renault KWID is made with approximately 98% local content. Renault India introduced the TRIBER in 2019 and the KIGER in 2021, both created, designed and manufactured in India for Indian customers before being exported internationally.
