Stellantis has shown a prototype version of its huge electric pickup truck. The car was titled Ram 1500 Revolution, and it will amaze even the most demanding automotive fan with a lot of bold design and technical solutions. The serialised version of this electric pickup will be dubbed the Ram 1500 BEV, and it is expected to hit the market next year; its official introduction will be announced in a few months.
The all-new front end of the Ram brand features a completely animated LED “tuning fork” design, which is adorned with an updated and animated “R-A-M” insignia. The doors have been remodelled to give an entrance in the form of a saloon, which displays a spacious interior that does not have a B-pillar. The front bumper flares include bright LED lights that have been ingeniously built into them, and fully animated LED taillamps and badging complement the lighting innovations. Ram’s position as the off-road and performance truck leader in North America is expanded upon by the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept, which features an integrated fascia design with a skid plate and innovative flush-mounting pivoting tow hooks.

The STLA Frame electric mobility platform, built in 2021, serves as the foundation for the Ram 1500 Revolution. The changed layout of the pickup truck (no massive internal combustion engines) allowed the designers to fit the third row of seats. However, it is not comprehensive – folding seats will not make people feel comfortable over a long trip. However, it is feasible to store valuable carry-ons there.
The Ram 1500 Revolution has a folding rear cab wall. The back luggage compartment is fitted with movable doors and a sliding panel.
A new motorised trunk that can open and close at the touch of a button and can improve storage space is one of the many innovative features that have been tastefully integrated throughout. The extensive list of powered features includes a powered charge-port door on the front driver’s side quarter panel, a powered tailgate, flush-mounted door handles, powered side steps, and a powered rear step with an active diffuser.
The idea includes new side-view mirrors that are more compact, lighter in weight, and use materials manufactured using a 3D printer to provide improved aerodynamics and reduced drag. Including digital cameras in the side-view mirrors makes it possible to reduce the mirrors’ size while maintaining the same level of visibility.
During the charging process, the charging port emits a blinking glow. It will make a sound when plugged in, indicating that the charging process has begun. The upper portion of the charging port is compatible with Level 1 and Level 2 of the AC charging standard, while the lower portion is compatible with DC quick charging.
A motorised multipurpose tailgate and a bigger RamBox are two recognisable Ram design characteristics that have been upgraded to provide increased functionality. The sharp hourglass body form and fender wells feature a new distinctive design that allows for the clearance of 35-inch tyres. The 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is equipped with a feature that allows it to self-level, as well as wheels that measure 24 inches in diameter and have centre caps that light up and remain in place.
These dimensions have never been seen before, but they are made possible by the one-of-a-kind STLA Frame EV platform on which the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is based. Because of the more advanced safety systems and the smaller, more powerful electric motors, the design team was able to shift the cabin forward and increase its length. This was made possible by the combination of these two factors. For increased space and comfort, the cab of the 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is four inches longer than that of today’s production trucks, but the length of the bed remains the same.
With all its decoration, the interior of the automobile references the work of science fiction writers in the cyberpunk genre, which has long established the norm for modern electric vehicles and their radical notions. There is no traditional instrument panel above the steering wheel; instead, the centre console with two 14.2-inch displays commands all attention.
In addition, the location of the upper display may be modified, and the lower monitor can be removed entirely for passenger usage. With the help of the auxiliary display, you may control practically all car systems. Armrests from the front seats may be removed and reinstalled above the knees for passengers with particular needs.
The Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is equipped with all-wheel drive and is propelled by two electric drive modules (EDMs) positioned in the front and rear of the vehicle, optimising internal space and allowing for a spacious trunk. The Ram 1500 BEV Concept has the potential for future high-performance applications and is designed to accept EDMs with greater capacities.
The Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept can add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes with 800-volt DC fast charging up to 350 kW and a charge time of approximately 10 minutes.
