The latest version of the T-90 tank, T-90M Proryv-3, took part in the fight with the armoured group of Ukrainian nationalists in the Kharkov (Kharkiv) region. The combat vehicle was seen in an information video released by the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.

Interestingly, its turret and hull, including from the side projections, are tightly covered in a special protective “stealth cape”, making it almost invisible to the most advanced enemy surveillance devices. The Nakidka camouflage system reduces the infrared, thermal, and radar band signatures. At its core, it’s a camouflage made of an undisclosed radio-absorbing and IR-dampening material, intended to make large vehicles such as tanks easy to conceal on the battlefield, even from radars and thermal imagers.

The T-90M Proryv has received a principally new turret that differs from the serial-produced module and a more powerful engine.

The powerful 125-mm cannon is partially covered with a material similar to vegetation camouflage. The Russians say that the gun can destroy any tank currently existing in the world with its ammunition, including guided ones.

The video shows the main multi-channel sight, its backup, the commander’s panoramic device, and a remote-controlled installation with a Kord machine gun.

The T-90M is equipped with increased power multi-fuel diesel engines, providing good manoeuvrability and speed.

These tanks are complemented by the T-90A, which has been already spotted in Ukraine.
