Djokovic denies injury concerns as he beats Medve to reach Adelaide final

Novak Djokovic is 6-3, 6-6 in the men’s singles semifinals of the Adelaide International 1 2023 tennis tournament on January 7, 2023. In order to win and move on to the championship match, he defeated Daniil Medvedev with 4, who was seeded third.

Djokovic delivers a high-energy performance and highlights the most impressive aspects of the play wherever he goes. As he gets ready for the Australian Open (Australian Open Tennis Tournament 2023), which he hopes will give him his 10th triumph, he has compiled an incredible 22-1 record since September of last year. His goal for this tournament is to win his 10th title.

During the first set, there was a point where I was chasing a forehand ball that came to a cross, and I felt some tightness in my left hamstring. I was concerned that I might have pulled it. After continuing play at one point, he signalled for a medical timeout, but after the game, he dismissed concerns about an injury.

“Fortunately, it’s not particularly serious. If it had been, I wouldn’t have been able to continue. I took an anti-inflammatory, and after a few games, it calmed down,” Djokovic said. I don’t care anymore. I hope tomorrow there will be no problems at all.”

In the championship match, he will compete against the American Sebastian Korda. Yoshihito Nishioka withdrew from the competition, which allowed Korda to move on to the final.
