Sri Lanka has now allowed fully vaccinated Indian travelers to enter the country, even those injected with Covaxin, says Dimuthu Tennakoon, the head of Sri Lankan Airlines’ global sales and distribution. Further, on arrival, the tourists who test Covid negative won’t be obliged to quarantine.

“Indian tourists are now welcomed in Sri Lanka. Everyone has to be fully vaccinated, and the second dose should be taken a minimum of 14 days before the visit. RT-PCR test will be conducted in the hotel rooms immediately after arrival; those who test positive will be taken to medical centers run by the hotels”, said Dimuthu.

However, the Covid guidelines should be followed by the ones tested negative as well. Sri Lanka gives all vaccines (including Covaxin) acceptance.

Sri Lankan Airlines is building up to Sri Lanka from pivotal Indian cities, exercising 4 flights per week from Chennai, 3 flights a week from Mumbai, and Bangalore to Colombo only once a week. There will be a rise in these numbers from September 1, 2021. Services will begin again between Colombo and Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Trivandrum, and Cochin with only one flight per week, whereas New Delhi and Hyderabad will connect with Colombo twice a week.

Since WHO approves Covishield, people who have it can travel to various countries, whereas Covaxin is yet to be approved by WHO.
