Manchester is unable to be calm. Two sporting GOATs (best of all time) are presently in town – Virat Kohli and Cristiano Ronaldo – and the weekend is looking promising. The football icon is likely to play for Manchester United in the Premier League against Newcastle United on Saturday at Old Trafford. And ‘King Kohli’ is in town for India’s last Test against England, which begins on September 10.

Lancashire Cricket’s excitement spilled over to Twitter, where they uploaded a photo of Virat Kohli and asked followers whether they wanted a “joint training session” between the Indian cricket captain and the Portuguese football star at Old Trafford. Manchester United remarked, “One city, two GOATs.

Fans got in on the act, with one remarking that the parking mess would be unthinkable. “I’m just witnessing the parking disaster,” he wrote. “Today I realized Manchester is Red and will always be,” another person said.

The Indian cricket squad is ready to face England in the fifth and final test after testing negative for COVID-19. “The ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) announce that all the India players’ PCR COVID Tests have come back negative and the Old Trafford Test will go on as scheduled,” BBC Test Match Special tweeted.

This occurred after it was revealed late Thursday evening that the Indian contingent had huddled after a senior cricketer expressed his fears about the situation worsening if a playing member tested positive on one of the match days.

Previously, physio Yogesh Parmar’s positive COVID-19 assessment forced BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to concede that the Test was questionable. Coach Ravi Shastri and three others tested positive for COVID last week.

India leads the five-match series, having won two matches to England’s one. One match resulted in a tie. As Ravindra Jadeja recovers from a leg issue, Ravichandran Ashwin may receive his first game of the series.
