According to police, a 23-year-old woman was raped by a known person inside a ladies hostel in Mysuru, and the suspect has been arrested. The accident happened on Friday. The accused, according to the police, saw the girl alone and raped and wounded her with a knife before fleeing.
After her hostel mates arrived, the incident was discovered, and the victim was brought to the hospital.
DCP Pradeep Gunti of the Department of Law and Order visited the crime scene, and police officials gathered CCTV footage from the surrounding locations. They took statements from the victim’s friends and hostel roommates.
The rape case was reported to the Narasimharaja police station, according to Mysuru Commissioner Chandra Gupta, who also stated that the culprit was known to the victim.
