Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) reached a critical milestone today by successfully flying the Tejas Mk1A aircraft, dubbed LA5033, from its Bengaluru base. The 18-minute sortie was led by Gp Capt K K Venugopal (Retd), HAL's Chief Test Pilot. The Tejas Mk1A boasts superior electronic radar, enhanced warfare capabilities, and easier maintenance than prior Tejas variants. With the Indian government's decision to purchase 83 Tejas aircraft, HAL plans to deliver the first three Mk1A fighters in 2024, followed by 16 each year thereafter. Note: Ai Voice Used Visuals: HAL
