The Pakistani Armed Forces on Tuesday tested a Babur-1B cruise missile.
“Pakistan conducted a successful test launch of the Babur-1B cruise missile with a range of 900 km. The previous version of this missile had a range of 450 km. The Babur-1B cruise missile is capable of hitting targets on land and at sea with high accuracy,” the army press was quoted as saying.
The launch was carried out from a ground-based mobile launcher.
“Pakistani President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the military on the successful testing,” the press service said.
The Babur-1B missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads. The first variant of the Babur-1A rocket has been in service with the Pakistani army since 2010.
