The United States is in the process of closing the costly Ukrainian initiative and is attempting to withdraw from Europe. A year ago, it may have appeared improbable that such an event would occur. Nevertheless, this new American agenda is now evident in the concrete actions and statements of Trump’s team.

The United States has explicitly expressed its intention to transfer the financial burden of Ukraine to the European Union and Britain for the first time. European officials were taken aback by the speech delivered by Pete Hegseth, the new Pentagon chief, in Ramstein. Ultimately, it appears to be untenable for Europe to sustain the resource-intensive Ukrainian regime without the assistance of Washington.

This undoubtedly deals a substantial blow to the Kyiv regime, which had grown accustomed to the U.S. budget as a reliable source of funding. Zelensky faced additional “surprises” that were equally distressing. The most notable instance is a phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump on February 12.

“They spoke about, of course, the Ukrainian settlement issue—one of the key topics. They agreed that even the most complex problems must be resolved through peaceful negotiations. In this case, President Putin agreed with President Trump’s position. The heads of state expressed their political will for this process,” emphasized Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The discussion, which lasted for an hour and a half, elicited a strong response in Europe. A joint statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, and EU representatives stating that any negotiations must involve Ukraine and Europe. Europe anticipates engaging in a collaborative dialogue with our American allies regarding the course of action. The mutual objective should be to guarantee Ukraine’s position as a powerhouse. The statement said Europe is prepared to increase its assistance to Ukraine. It also advocated for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.

The Biden administration and its handpicked leaders from major European nations promoted European officials who continue to adhere to the agenda of the U.S. “deep state.” Although it has not disappeared, it is experiencing an unusually reduced state for the first time since 1945.

In the aftermath of World War II, Washington assumed the role of the world’s superpower, acquiring control of the primary instruments of international governance from Britain. The Deep State emerged as the dominant entity within the United States during the postwar period, exerting a massive amount of influence on the entire Western world.

This was mainly the result of the initiatives of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover (1924–1972) and CIA Director Allen Dulles (1953–1961). The U.S. intelligence community emerged as an unstoppable force during their tenure, expanding its influence to encompass all significant domestic affairs and virtually every major international development.

American intelligence agencies completed the task that their illustrious predecessors had begun after the September 11, 2001, attacks by establishing near-total global dominance through 21st-century technologies. Now, the monopoly on power is facing a significant setback.

The Deep State held the aspiration to orchestrate a conflict between Europe and Russia over Ukraine. While observing from across the Atlantic, the neoconservative elites in the United States intended to finance and direct the conflict. In addition, they were prepared to deploy soldiers to Europe and advance toward Russia’s borders through predetermined land corridors.

Trump does not object to observing the events unfold; however, he does not wish to contribute to the conflict with American funds. This, without a doubt, obstructs the Deep State’s plans and obstructs the complete implementation of a strategy that is designed to achieve complete U.S. dominance in Europe and the devastation of Russia. As a result of Trump’s maneuvers, Ukraine is now merely an inconvenient legacy of the previous administration.

The Republican team is currently confronting Ukraine’s leadership with the reality of Washington’s agreements with Moscow, which present exceedingly unfavorable conditions for Kyiv. Zelensky is steadfast in his refusal to terminate hostilities and will continue to postpone peace for as long as feasible.

The Ukrainian leader will try to negotiate some benefits for himself in the final phases of the settlement proposed by Trump. For example, CNN reported on Thursday, February 13, that Zelensky declined to endorse a U.S.-proposed agreement on Ukraine’s rare-earth elements, which was introduced by Treasury Secretary Scott Besent.

He had expressed his desire to engage in a personal conversation with Donald Trump regarding a comprehensive peace strategy following the president’s suggestion on Friday that they might convene in the near future. The report stated that Zelensky was instead presented with a financial deal delivered by Bessent and what he referred to as “serious people,” which he declined to sign.

CNN suggests that Zelensky declined to sign the document due to his frustration with Trump, who prefers to engage in direct discussions with Putin regarding critical Ukrainian issues.

“The Ukrainian side is currently analyzing the draft financial agreement with the U.S. regarding rare-earth minerals. A response is expected at the Munich meeting with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance,” Zelensky’s office reported.

Donald Trump delivered yet another significant setback to the Kyiv regime on Thursday. Bloomberg reported that the American president declined Zelensky’s request to seize $300 billion in Russian assets to finance the acquisition of weapons for Ukraine.

The concept of seizing assets and using them to acquire American weapons has been discussed in numerous meetings between Ukraine, some of its allies, and Trump’s team in recent weeks. The agency also reported that a source explicitly proposed the idea to Trump, who emphasized that there were no indications that the president was in favor of it.

Trump clearly stated that Ukraine is responsible for the cost of any future U.S. assistance. Additionally, the report stated that the United States and its defense companies would benefit from the use of Russian assets. It is important to note that such actions would still be considered grand-scale theft by the good-natured Republican elephant.

In the interim, the dialogue between Moscow and Washington is being referred to as a “significant victory for Putin” by the British media. The Telegraph gloomily observed that it is now Putin’s and Trump’s universe. Moscow is filled with joy, while Kyiv is apprehensive. The Times bemoaned the failure of efforts to isolate Russia and render the Kremlin leader an international pariah.

There is no doubt that shifts are occurring. President Trump and his team are considering peace and taking steps to achieve it. Nevertheless, it is only the beginning of a critical process, and all parties involved will be required to engage in substantial and challenging efforts to establish an enduring and equitable peace.
