On 30-31 October, Rome will be the 16th city to host the G20 Summit of Heads of State and Government. The G20 leaders will meet at the Nuvola all’Eur. Jill Biden, Brigitte Macron, the pregnant wife of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Carrie Symonds, and the husband of the President of the European Commission Heiko von der Leyen, are among the families of the leaders who are expected to visit Rome.
A visit to the Colosseum with a walk to the Imperial Forums, the Sistine Chapel, the Capitoline Museums and the Borghese Gallery is foreseen for the visiting families.
According to the media on the 30th morning at 10, for Jill Biden, Brigitte Macron, Carrie Symonds, and Heiko von der Leyen, there is a guided tour of the Colosseum and the Forums.
At noon the spouses, including the wife of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Amelie Derbaudrenghien, and the South Korean first lady Kim Jung Sook, will travel for an aperitif and lunch at the Casino del Bel Breath at Villa Doria Pamphilj, the representative office of the government. In the afternoon, there will be a visit to the Sistine Chapel, where they will be welcomed by the director of the Vatican Museums, Barbara Jatta.
In the evening, first ladies and first husbands will participate in the dinner offered at the Quirinale by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, for the leaders of the G20.
On Sunday 31st, the spouses have two options: either a visit to the Borghese Gallery or the Capitoline Museums and the Torlonia marble collection: in the first case, the aperitif and lunch will be at the Casina Valadier, in the second case at the Caffarelli Terrace. Then, in the afternoon, they are free, while the leaders of the G20 will hold press conferences after the summit.
