The ex Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director and ex-White House Homeland security adviser John Brennan has raised the expectation of the possibility of aliens visiting earth. In a Conversations with Tyler podcast, John O. Brennan on Life in the CIA on 16 December, John Brennan said ” I think it’s a bit presumptuous and arrogant for us to believe that there’s no other form of life anywhere in the entire universe. What that might be is subject to a lot of different views.”
Responding to Cowen’s question on Brennan’s approach a video of an unidentified flying object (UFO), similar to those released last year that shows US Navy pilots closely tracking mysterious flying objects, John said: “I’ve seen some of those videos from Navy pilots, and I must tell you that they are quite eyebrow-raising when you look at them …. you really have to approach it with an open mind, but get as much data as possible and get as much expertise as possible brought to bear.”
“I think some of the phenomena we’re going to be seeing continues to be unexplained and might, in fact, be some type of phenomenon that is the result of something that we don’t yet understand and that could involve some type of activity that some might say constitutes a different form of life,” he added.
The UFO footages by the US Navy pilots from aircraft carriers Nimitz and Theodore Roosevelt, known as”FLIR1,” “Gimbal” and “GoFast,” have been on the internet for open viewing since 2017. In August 2020, Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist approved the establishment of an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force (UAPTF). The task force is headed by the Department of the Navy, under the supervision of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security.
Brennan’s comment comes after Haim Eshed, the former head of Israel’s Defense Ministry’s space directorate recently commented on the US’s extraterrestrial alien link. Speaking to Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot, Haim said that there is a cooperation agreement between the aliens and the US government and POTUS Donald Trump is aware of it. As per Haim’s interview, the UFOs have asked the US not to publish that they are here because humanity is not yet ready. He also claimed that there is an underground base in the depths of Mars where there are American astronauts and alien representatives.
An ex-official of the US government too has commented on the UFO program. In 2018, a retired Air Force Col. David Shea, the former spokesperson of the USAF’s Project Blue Book, demanded the Pentagon make public any evidence it has about aliens having visited the Earth.
The US Defence Department has been investigating aliens periodically. Project Blue Book was a US Air Force project in 1969 to investigate UFOs. The other known project was Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program in 2009 and as per Pentagon, it ended in 2012. The CIA too has previously released information on the UFO phenomenon. In 1978, the agency declassified some documents admitting its probes of the UFO cases since the 1940s.
Even the US Presidents office has officially acknowledged the existence of UFO probes. US President Donald Trump is on record that he might order more materials on UFO investigations declassified, including the infamous 1947 Roswell incident. It is generally believed that he is just teasing. Jimmy Carter, the former US President, had claimed to have seen a UFO while at Leary, Georgia in 1969. According to a book ‘UFOs: Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities, by Army Col. John Alexander, former President Ronald Regan might have spotted a UFO. Former President Bill Clinton had said that he had looked into the truth of Area 51 and had reviewed the Roswell papers. His wife, Hillary Clinton the ex-presidential candidate, had also spoken about making the UFO files public. Barrack Obama’s presidency also saw declassification of many UFO-related materials.
