Lieutenant Colonel JS Sidhu was commissioned into the Madras Sappers, he distinguished himself as a young officer during intense combat in Eastern Ladakh, from Daulat Beg Oldi to Chushul, during the Sino-Indian War of 1962. In a remarkable feat, he successfully led a small band of troops through a deliberate Chinese ambush, a unique instance of its kind throughout the entire conflict. Lt Col. JS Sidhu is the son of Brigadier Sidhu. He is an avid golfer, an international traveler, and currently resides permanently in Australia.
