According to Yuri Slyusar, the General Director of the UAC, this August, the Irkutsk Aviation Plant will commemorate its 90th anniversary. Fulfilling the state defense order has always been one of the plant’s most important priorities.

A substantial portion of the plant’s resources are currently being directed toward supplying the army and navy with Yak-130 combat trainers and Su-30SM fighters. According to him, the Yak-130 aircraft manufactured in Irkutsk plays a significant role in the actual training of pilots who are currently part of the Aerospace Forces.

On April 12, UAC handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense the initial shipment of multifunctional Su-35S fighters for the year. The combat aircraft underwent a cycle of ground and flight testing in various modes of operation.

The Su-34 front-line bombers were also handed to the Aerospace Forces of Russia on April 5 by the state corporation. This was the first transfer of combat aircraft to the Russian military in 2024. The Ministry of Defense received a shipment of infantry fighting vehicles of the third generation earlier on the same day. Kurganmashzavod, a subsidiary of the High Precision Systems holding company, a unit of Rostec, sent these vehicles.
