Made in Russia, Made for War: UAC Fuels Up Russian Fleet with New Aircraft in 2023

-

To satisfy the state military order in 2023, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) enterprises in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Ulyanovsk constructed and delivered new serial aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defence. Su-57 operational-tactical aviation aircraft, Su-35S, Su-34, Su-30SM2, military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A, and training-combat aircraft Yak-130 are among them.

In late December, the PJSC “Il” – Aviastar branch handed over another Il-76MD-90A aircraft, bringing the current year’s deliveries to a close in the interests of military transport aviation.

JSC “Tupolev” completed its responsibilities under the Tu-160M strategic missile carrier modernization and production programme. Repairs to the long-range aviation aircraft Tu-22M3 were also performed.

NAZ “Sokol” worked on MiG-31 interceptor fighter modernization.

According to UAC CEO Yuri Slusar -UAC businesses have completed their commitments under the state defence order in accordance with contracts for the current fiscal year on time. They ensured the delivery of military equipment ahead of time in various positions. The group companies are working hard to ensure the manufacturing of fifth-generation Su-57 planes. UAC boosted the number of military transport aircraft produced. UAC is still working on responsibilities connected to key aviation programmes. Production of operational-tactical aviation aircraft has increased by 30%. The multifunctional complexes show their worth in real-world combat situations. Furthermore, input from operations enables our engineers and designers to quickly develop aviation technology and provide modernization at a higher technological level.

He said the goal for the coming year is to ensure consistent production and delivery of new aircraft, particularly those in high demand by the Russian Ministry of Defence.

It is also intended to increase military transport aircraft manufacturing further, including building the groundwork for future heavy and light-class military transport aircraft.
