Polish and allied aircraft were activated on March 29 morning, after Russia’s missile attacks on Ukraine. The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command reported this on X.
“The Polish and allied aircraft are operating in Polish airspace, which could result in increased noise levels, especially in the southeastern part of the country. Tonight, there is increased long-range flight activity by the Russian Federation’s aviation,” the Command added.
NATO planes were activated as Russia began another massive strike on Ukrainian cities in the early hours of the morning. The raids targeted nearly every part of Ukraine, including the far western cities of Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk. Multiple explosions were heard in Dnipro, the regional capital of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. According to Governor Serhii Lysak, nocturnal attacks on Kamianske in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast destroyed some infrastructure and injured a man, who was later hospitalized. Ukraine said it shot down ten Russian drones.
According to the governor, numerous power plants were damaged in the region, and a cooperative building in Kamianske was destroyed, wounding five people, including a five-year-old kid, two women, and two men. One of the men in the hospital is in bad condition. The Kyiv Air Force said that Russian forces launched waves of drones and missiles overnight, including Tu-95 bombers from the Russian city of Murmansk, MiG-31K aircraft from the Savasleyka airport in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, and ballistic missiles from occupied Crimea. Explosions were also reported in Ivano-Frankivsk and Khmelnytskyi.”

Several thematic groups on social media, citing ‘on-site’ sources, report that ‘Kinzhal’ was employed to strike a massive underground gas storage facility near the hamlet of Stryi in Lviv Oblast, western Ukraine.
Previously, the Russian Armed Forces did not target gas infrastructure in Ukraine and instead focused on electrical producing facilities, restricting their strikes to distribution substations. The Russians appear to be responding to Ukrainian strikes on their oil refineries.
