RAFAEL’s IRON BEAM’s Naval Application to be displayed overseas for the first time

-

From May 3-5, Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Ltd. is participating in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition in Singapore and showcasing several first-time defence solutions.

At IMDEX 2023, RAFAEL wants to highlight the high-tech and diverse naval systems it has to offer. The first thing that will be talked about is how the IRON BEAM can be used in the Navy. RAFAEL and the Directorate of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D) of the Ministry of Defence successfully finished a series of ground-breaking live field tests with the IRON BEAM laser interception system in March 2022. The tests were conducted against steep-track threats. RAFAEL NAVAL IRON BEAM is made to quickly and effectively stop threats like short-range ballistic rockets, drones, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of different sizes. Like its land-based cousin, the naval application can be added to an existing air defence system like IRON DOME. This makes it a cost-effective way to defend against air attacks and provides kinetic air defence capabilities.

According to Executive Vice President Dr. Ran Gozali, who also serves as the Head of RAFAEL’s Land and Naval Systems Directorate, the NAVAL IRON BEAM is an excellent illustration of a defence solution dynamic and adaptive to counteract the development of new dangers. He noted that RAFAEL’s naval portfolio is constantly growing, that systems are always being improved, and that RAFAEL’s research and development operations are swiftly developing new answers to existing problems and those that will arise in the future.

Additionally, the C-DOME Mission Module, the most up-to-date configuration of the IRON DOME used for naval applications, will be on display. The C-DOME Mission Module idea has been created by RAFAEL specifically for local defence applications. It equips OPVs, auxiliary ships, and other naval support ships and assets with superior air defence capabilities without needing deck penetration, vessel hull retrofit, or complex platform integration. This makes it an ideal solution for OPVs, offshore patrol vessels, and other naval support ships and assets.
