In the middle of a continuing scramble in the reigning party (Congress) in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel met Rahul Gandhi on Friday the second time in a week.
“I told him everything. There were political as well state administrative discussions. In the end, I requested Rahul Gandhi to visit Chhattisgarh. He gladly accepted the invitation, he will be there next week,” he told the waiting media persons after the meeting.
Baghel came to Delhi from Raipur and arrived at Rahul Gandhi’s Tughlaq Lane Residence somewhere around 4 pm. AICC in charge for Chhattisgarh P L Punia also attended.
Issues have been developing ever since T S Singh Deo, Chhattisgarh’s Health Minister asked for a change in the leadership by mentioning a power-sharing agreement on interchanging chief ministership after the party came in command in 2018 assembly polls.
The CM of Chhattisgarh had met Gandhi this week on Tuesday as well. On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi had a separate meet with Deo.
On Wednesday, Deo and Baghel had a meeting with AICC’s general secretary, K C Venugopal, to discuss the leadership switch Deo requested.
At the same time, various parliamentarians and flock of ministers in Chhattisgarh are displaying their support for the Chief Minister from Thursday in the national capital Raipur.
Many Members of the Legislative Assembly and Ministers in Chhattisgarh support the CM after attending a meeting with AICC’s in-charge P L Punia.
Earlier today, Congress MLA’s Shishupal Shori, Prakash Nayak, Brihaspat Singh, and Amarjeet Bhagat were seen exiting Punia’s residence in New Delhi.
