Apple has added autofocus and other improvements to the front-facing camera on iPhone 14 (likely designation), resulting in significantly improved image quality reports 9to5Mac citing an authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

He said that Apple has also chosen new vendors for its smartphones’ most important camera improvement in recent years. The insider specified that the Japanese company Sony would continue to supply camera sensors, but now the front camera modules will be created in collaboration with Cowell and LG. The front camera aperture of the iPhone 14 is reported to be F/1.9 compared to F/2.2 in iPhone 11 released in 2019.

At the same time, the lenses in the new iPhones will be from Genius and Largan, and the new focusing module, a new VCM driver, will be from the Alps and Luxshare. According to Kuo’s report, the new front camera will have a six-piece lens instead of the five-piece lens in current smartphones. It is also expected that the iPhone 14 will have a large aperture secondary camera (which affects the increase in camera resolution. – Ed.).

It is worth noting that the overall share of shipments of Genius lenses for the iPhone 14 will be higher than that of Largan. This is the first time that order distribution for new Genius lenses for iPhone has surpassed Largan.

Earlier it was reported that the iPhone 14 Pro Max would not have the usual “bangs”. The smartphone will have two small cutouts in the shape of the Latin letter i. One will be under the front camera, and the second under the Face ID system for identifying the owner by face.
