Pirelli launches Cinturato Gravel RC, the racing version of its famous Cinturato Gravel. A tubeless-ready tire, which completes the gravel range, conceived and designed for the modern competitions of this discipline, now also recognized by the Union Cycliste Internationale.
From World Gravel Series to Unbound, Cinturato Gravel RC is aimed at any gravel competition: on road, gravel or rough terrain. The new tire was created to meet the needs of the fastest athletes of this discipline, who require smoothness and speed in compact and straight sections and aggressiveness and maximum grip to tackle any curve in complete tranquillity and at the speeds of modern gravel racing.
The Cinturato Gravel RC, which will be on show for the first time to the public at the Eurobike fair in Frankfurt, has a particular tread pattern, with high and penetrating knobs on the sides and lower and denser in the central band. It is borrowed from a competition best-seller in Pirelli’s MTB range, the Scorpion XC RC. It is made with the now proven and performing SpeedGRIP compound. Pirelli’s proprietary compound allows you to tackle with serenity from asphalt to gravel to off-road. SpeedGRIP offers durability comparable to that of MTB SmartGRIP, excellent chemical grip on wet surfaces and a reduction in rolling resistance very close to that of a pure road tire.
The Cinturato Gravel RC has been reinforced compared to the other Gravels in the range precisely to allow the tire to safely face the most demanding tests and withstand the watts expressed even by gravel professionals on any surface. Its carcass, this time in 60TPI nylon, is protected by a “belt”, which hugs the rubber from heel to heel. Called TechWALL Gravel, it adds a layer of reinforcement and cut protection without compromising the rolling resistance and driveability of the rubber.
Pirelli’s new Cinturato Gravel RC tire is already available in sizes 35-622, 40-622 and 45-622, both in the traditional black version and the Classic version with para sides.
