The body of 48-year-old Shaikh Saleem Abdul was recovered from Retibunder Creek earlier in the morning today. Mumbra police and the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) officials were the first on the scene.
According to officials the cause of death seems to be drowning. It has been speculated that the deceased had gone over to the creek to answer natures call, where his leg inadvertently got lodged in the mud. He drowned after being unable to get himself free.
Police have registered the case as an ‘accidental death’ until further evaluations into the matter.
The body of Mansukh Hiren, owner of the gelatin laden Scorpio, Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) found parked outside billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia residence in South Bombay, was also found dead in a creek.
