Uma Thurman is the protagonist of the official image of the sixteenth edition of the Rome Film Fest, which will take place from 14 to 24 October 2021 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica with the artistic direction of Antonio Monda, produced by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma chaired by Laura Delli Colli, General Manager Francesca Via.
The photo is a tribute to the American actress and her extraordinary performance in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill: Volume 2’, which will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2021 Film Fest. The performer’s hypnotic gaze crosses the cinema screen and speaks directly to the viewer: Uma Thurman’s face is a concentrate of energy, freedom and passion. The portrait of a strong and determined woman emerges who fights for what she loves and transforms her desire for revenge into a dream of new life, in search of a real rebirth.
“The decision to sign the Festival with the image of a cult character who continues to cross the cinema loved by the younger generations is not only a tribute to an extraordinary actress but a way to wish cinema, beyond every cliché, the same energy and the same ability to keep fighting for a real restart season, ”said Laura Delli Colli. “Uma Thurman is an icon of contemporary cinema: a strong, sensitive, intelligent and independent woman. An essential presence such as beauty and freedom ”, explained Antonio Monda.
