Karnataka election results 2023 – Congress Party confident, Early Trends Show Lead Over BJP and JD(S)

-

The Congress party shared a video on Twitter featuring its leader Rahul Gandhi from the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ campaign as early trends show it is moving closer to the magic 119 seats in the 224-member assembly.
Sia’s motivational song “Unstoppable” is accompanied by the video and reflects the party’s optimism and determination to succeed. The Congress party tweeted today expressing their confidence in the ongoing Karnataka election. The message hinted at their unwavering determination and stated that they feel unstoppable.

Vote counts by the Election Commission show that as of 10 am, the Congress party led in 104 seats, the BJP led in 70 seats, and the JD(S) led in 23 seats in the ongoing Karnataka elections.

According to the initial counting trends, DK Shivakumar is leading, while Jagadish Shettar, who recently joined the Congress from the BJP, is trailing in Hubli-Dharwad-Central.

With some exit polls predicting a Congress majority and others indicating that the BJP will win, the Karnataka election results could lead to a hung assembly.

Janata Dal (Secular) may hold the balance of power in Karnataka in a hung assembly. On Saturday, HD Kumaraswamy, the leader of JD(S), confirmed that he has yet to be approached to form a government. He expressed hope that his party would perform well.

As early trends indicated that Congress would win the Karnataka election, Siddaramaiah expressed confidence in the party’s win. According to Siddaramaiah, the Congress would win more than 120 seats, while the BJP is expected to win 65-70 seats and the JD(S) 25.

Furthermore, he expressed confidence that he would win the Varuna constituency. According to Siddaramaiah, the people of Karnataka were disenchanted with the BJP’s anti-public policies and corruption issues, and the campaigning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah would not succeed in swaying their opinions.

Party workers at the Bengaluru office celebrate and cheer their candidates after the Congress party won 119 seats in the Karnataka election. Workers have been closely monitoring the results on a large screen and raising slogans favouring prominent Congress leaders, including Opposition leader Siddaramaiah, KPCC president DK Shivakumar, and Rahul Gandhi.

In the meantime, BJP party workers remained silent since early trends showed their party trailing behind the Congress.
