Meraj-532: Iranians tested long-range precision kamikaze drone

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has successfully tested a kamikaze drone with a large range and good precision.

According to Ali Kuhestani, director of the IRGC Ground Forces’ research and self-sustenance organization, whom the Tasnim news agency quoted on March 9, the drone is part of a series of kamikaze drones developed and built by young professionals.

Ali Kuhestani says that the unmanned aircraft is called the Meraj-532 and that a piston engine powers it. Flights can cover a range of up to 450 km in one direction. The drone can carry a payload of up to 50 kilogrammes at one time.

The drone has a maximum flight time of three hours and can reach heights of 3,600 feet. (12,000 feet). According to Ali Kuhestani, the drone could be fired from any vehicle.

Additionally, the body of this drone was designed to be of the kind of easy setup drone, which means that it is simple to install and put together. This cuts down on the amount of time required of the user for preparation, which speeds up the rate at which the drone can be used and reacts.
