Musk Denies Cybertruck Gift to Kadyrov

Opinions on Tesla products, particularly the Cybertruck, can differ greatly, but the fact remains: this firm draws attention with its outrageous ideas. And if you combine a large-caliber machine rifle with a Tesla Cybertruck and the distinct personality of Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, you can produce a viral video that, while absurd, is definitely eye-catching.

On August 17, Kadyrov bragged that a Tesla Cybertruck had arrived in Grozny “from Elon Musk.” Local “tinkerers” even modified the electric vehicle by attaching a large-caliber machine gun to it. Although the phrasing was ambiguous, many people concluded that this Cybertruck was a gift from Elon Musk to Ramzan Kadyrov.

Naturally, the reality was rather different: it appears that the vehicle was transferred into Chechnya via back channels, avoiding sanctions. It is unknown whether this was done with or without budget money. It is evident that no gift transaction occurred: Elon Musk announced this today in response to a controversial comment from a member on the social network X.

Furthermore, Musk was visibly upset by the question and thought the person asking it was ” dumb,” as Musk would never give a Cybertruck to a “Russian general.” The billionaire also took the opportunity to condemn the mainstream press for disseminating such phony news.

According to the Chechen leader, the electric vehicle with the mounted machine gun will be delivered to the special military action zone. Given the sensitivity of electric car batteries to damage and the fact that there is simply no place to charge electric vehicles in the conflict zone, this is an odd (to say the least) decision. The reasons behind this and who it is intended for are conclusions that each person will have to draw for themselves.
