U.S. Supreme Court maintains the migrants’ immediate expulsion rule, Tent City being erected

-

The Supreme Court of the United States has refused to remove a provision that was enacted during the administration of former President Donald Trump and has instead chosen to uphold a rule that requires the rapid removal of migrants.

The court will now hear the arguments presented by the states by the end of June, at which point it will judge whether or not to enable local authorities to intervene with existing migrant expulsion programmes.

It was anticipated that section 42, which enabled the deportation of migrants who arrived from areas with a high coronavirus risk, would be terminated at the end of the month of December. It was common practice to discourage asylum seekers from filing such a request. Oscar Leeser, the mayor of El Paso, which is located on the border with Mexico, recently proclaimed a state of emergency out of concern that the number of migrants living directly on the streets is expected to increase significantly.

Donald Trump, who served as the 45th President of the United States and was responsible for the implementation of Section 42 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, prophesied that an upcoming surge of illegal immigrants would have a catastrophic effect on the country.

Commenting on the U.S. Supreme Court’s verdict, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Tuesday that the administration intends to comply with the ruling while seeking “more secure, orderly and humane” security controls on the southern border. According to Jean-Pierre, the authorities are optimistic that this policy will be overturned at some point in the future, and lawmakers must broaden the channels through which people can legally enter the United States.

Building a Tent city

According to a report by a journalist for RIA Novosti who was there at the scene, the authorities in the United States have started constructing an enormous tent city in El Paso (Texas) in preparation for a large-scale flow of migrants across the border with Mexico.

In the desert region on the outskirts of El Paso, where illegal immigrants have arrived in the past several weeks, numerous construction companies are currently erecting structures. Given the proximity to the military base of Fort Bliss, it can be assumed that the town is planned to be built on the territory belonging to the U.S. Army.

The massive white tents are expected to accommodate thousands of people. Near the construction site, the media noticed several large commercial trucks allegedly delivering building materials and food to the area.

Nothing was spoken publicly about the beginning of the erection of a tent city for illegal immigrants when it was first revealed.
