The capacity of Phase 1 production is a thousand Urbania per month. Serial production has started at the brand-new, purpose-built, cutting-edge manufacturing facility built specifically for this platform. Within the next two weeks, the first batch of vehicles will be delivered to dealerships all around the country.

Force Urbania

Force Motors has called its next-generation platform for shared transportation URBANIA. Before that, it was codenamed T1N.

This product was displayed at the Auto Expo 2020, but its release was delayed due to the Covid epidemic and its ripple effect. The new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities designed for this platform have begun serial production.

Despite the fact that Indian law does not mandate airbags for the driver and co-driver, the URBANIA is the first vehicle in India’s market sector to offer crash and rollover compliance with airbags for both. In addition, the URBANIA is equipped with massive vented disc brakes on all four wheels, ESP, ABS, EBD, and ETDC, providing unrivalled passenger safety.

The URBANIA was created with global ambitions, and its design is protected for use in specific countries in the Middle East, ASEAN, Africa and South America, where it is anticipated to be an exceptional value proposition compared to high-end items from Europe, the Far East, and the United States.

The development and manufacturing of this ground-up modular monocoque van and the establishment of new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities required an investment of more than Rs.1 billion.

During the development of Urbania, Force Motors consulted extensively with leading technology specialists and domain experts in Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States to improve, refine, and validate this Indian-made platform to meet international performance standards.

The URBANIA, with its next-generation, worldwide styling and body design, is in a league of its own and in the same class as the world’s finest automobiles. Its appearance is further enhanced with first-in-segment signature day running LEDs, first-in-segment projector lamps, and first-in-segment tail lamps with light guiding technology, all of which make it a head-turner from any angle.

The URBANIA platform has been created with a two-box architecture that keeps the engine completely outside of the passenger compartment to minimise NVH. For the first time in this market area, an independent front suspension with transverse springs is available, providing it with the highest ride quality in its category.

A Mercedes-derived, 115-horsepower, BS6-compliant powers the URBANIA. It is a Common Rail Diesel engine with 350Nm of peak torque over a wide range from 1,400 to 2,200 rpm.
