Following a year since Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide and the controversy following it, the deceased celebrity’s posh Bandra residence is now up for rent. Sources indicate that the apartment in which the actor was found dead is now open to tenants with a monthly rent capped at an estimated four lakh rupees.
A celebrity real-estate broker had confirmed this development in a quote to a leading national daily stating that the apartment is up for rent however is yet to get a tenant. The real-estate agent cited the scourge of the COVID-19 situation in the country’s financial capital as being the driving factor behind the lack of inquiry into the property. Of the few who have shown interest in the property, most have been inquisitive about the deceased actor.
The owner of the apartment is reportedly confident that the property will invite new tenants as the flat is housed in a prime Mumbai location with a sea-facing view. Post pandemic interest into the flat by corporates, expats and high-income migrants is being expected by the realty firm, however, concerns over the property being the spot of a high-profile suicide cannot entirely be brushed past, with many prospective tenants likely to be unsettled by the fact that its former occupant was found dead within its four walls. A case with a multitude of twists and turns became the subject of a prolonged national media spectacle.
The actor known for his poignant performances in highly successful projects was remembered by his fraternity on the occasion of his death anniversary yesterday. His former colleagues in the film industry, including the likes of Kriti Sanon, Bhumi Pednekar, Abhishek Kapoor, and Mukesh Chhabra amongst others took to social media and remembered the late actor. His fans too, took to social media to convey their profound admiration towards the actor.
