Tata Motors Launches State-of-the-Art Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Chandigarh

In Chandigarh, Tata Motors has opened its fourth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF). The facility was inaugurated by Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, and is called “Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect.” Using methods that are kind to the environment, the cutting-edge facility can disassemble 12,000 vehicles that have reached the end of their useful lives in a safe and sustainable manner.

Dada Trading Company, a partner of Tata Motors, is responsible for the development and operation of the RVSF. This facility can shred both passenger and commercial vehicles, independent of the brand of the vehicle. This mission aligns with the company’s objective to support environmentally beneficial initiatives. This milestone further reinforces the company’s commitment to environmentally benign initiatives following the tremendous success of Tata Motors’ three prior RVSFs in Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, and Surat.

The cutting-edge facility Re.Wi.Re. was explicitly designed to disassemble passenger and commercial cars that have reached the end of their useful lives, with a particular emphasis on the use of ecologically friendly procedures. Dedicated cell-type and line-type dismantling equipment is available at the fully digitalized facility, which is designed to dismantle commercial and passenger vehicles.

Additionally, the facility’s activities are completely paperless and seamless. When properly disassembling various components, such as tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases, there are also stations specifically designated for this purpose. A careful documentation and disassembly process is used for every vehicle. This method is designed to meet the standards specific to passenger and commercial modes of transportation. By doing so, the process of dismantling ensures that the utmost attention to detail is paid, hence guaranteeing the safe disposal of all components following the policy of the scrappage of vehicles.
