The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office (California, USA) is investigating Britney Spears for a misdemeanor of assault after an employee at her home alleged that the singer beat her, authorities informed local media.
The incident occurred on Monday around 10.25 a.m. local time (17.25 GMT) at the singer’s home in Thousand Oaks, located in Ventura County and about 60 kilometers from downtown Los Angeles, the spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, Capt. Eric Buschow.
Britney allegedly slapped a housekeeper’s phone out of her hands in a dispute over Britney’s dog’s wellness.
Britney’s lawyer Mathew S Rosengart has called the incident ‘manufactured’ and said that the Sheriff’s Office has called the incident ‘very minor misdemeanour’ and ‘no injuries’.
