VAdm Vinod Pasricha (Retd) told Frontier India that the major problem with Indian Aircraft Carrier 2 (IAC-2) is primarily that the present Cochin Shipyard is not big enough to take bigger aircraft carriers than the ones we are building like IAC-1. Although, it is not a major limitation as that Aircraft Carrier is good as per our requirements.

What needs to be done is that, in the modern concept, the catapult systems and the arrester gear systems are changing rapidly and much later versions are coming up. So either we develop those and make sure that from the steam catapult, we change over to the electric catapult and other devices and also for the arrester so that we can operate the aircraft better and faster and be able to manage them.
