Porsche India has added Cayenne Turbo GT to its Cayenne model range, and it is the most expensive of the family as the price starts from INR 25,708,000 (Ex-Showroom). Compared to the regular Coupe, the hardcore crossover received a retuned chassis with stiffer (15%) air suspension dampers, a recalibrated electric power steering and an improved PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control) system responsible for suppressing rolls. Electric motors housed inside the stabilizers on each axle kick in as corners are entered, helping the car defy the laws of physics. The crazy SUV picks up a hundred in 3.3 seconds.
Cayenne already has Turbo and Turbo S E-Hybrid modifications, they have the same V8 4.0 Biturbo engine with a capacity of 550 hp, but the hybrid helps it with an electric motor; thanks to which the peak output of the power plant reaches 680 hp. The new version of the Turbo GT is devoid of a hybrid makeweight (which has saved about 330 kg of weight!), while the petrol G8 has been seriously improved.
Porsche has installed a new crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, timing chains, and related parts. In addition, the improved turbochargers, direct injection system, intake and intercooler have increased the return from 550 hp. and 770 Nm up to 640 hp and 850 Nm. The eight-speed “automatic” is strengthened, and the transfer case has additional liquid cooling. And that’s not to mention the other settings of the entire transmission.
The Cayenne Turbo GT comes standard with all the technical options that are offered for a surcharge for other versions. This is PASM adaptive suspension with PDCC active anti-roll bars, full control chassis, electronically controlled PTV rear differential and PCCB’s most powerful carbon-ceramic brakes. As mentioned above, compared to the Turbo version, the air suspension stiffness has been increased by 15%, and the ground clearance in the standard position has been reduced by 17mm.
The front wheels are 13mm wider than other versions, and the negative camber is increased by 0.45 degrees, all to widen the tire contact patch on the road in corners. Tires Pirelli P Zero Corsa with a bore diameter of 22 inches – in a special modification are made for the record-breaking Cayenne. Finally, a sports exhaust system with two large pipes offset to the centre of the rear bumper is installed as standard (like the Cayenne GTS Coupe version, there is no intermediate muffler here).
There are also changes in the aerodynamic body kit. The Turbo GT version has the original lower front bumper trim, the rear wing has additional side stabilizer sections above the rear window, and the height of the spoiler tail on the retractable wing has been increased by 25 mm (it is stated that this feature alone allowed increasing downforce by 40 kg). The car roof is made of carbon fibre, and glass cannot be ordered. The extreme Cayenne has a strictly four-seat interior with leather and suede upholstery and a steering wheel with a characteristic zero mark.
The new version turns out to be the fastest in the family. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes only 3.3 s versus 3.8 s for the heavy hybrid and 3.9 s for the Turbo modification. Even the Lamborghini Urus (3.6s) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (3.7s) are put to shame. Although the maximum speed of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is not yet the champion among crossovers: 300 km / h versus 306 km / h for the Bentley Bentayga Speed, 305 km / h for the Urus and 302 km / h for the Maserati Levante Trofeo.
