Rapper Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis. The 36 year old musician was approached inside a cookie shop by a man who shot him.
Although the identification of the shooter is not completed, the police officers confirmed the victim’s identity. Hundreds of people poured into the murder area, and there were moments of tension and anger over the violence in the city.
Young Dolph fans have expressed their grief over the loss of what was considered a true icon of the city of Memphis.
Young Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr., released his first mixtape, “Paper Route Campaign,” in 2009. His prolific career has attracted the attention of hip-hop stars like Gucci Mane.
As early as 2017, Young Dolph was hospitalised for multiple gunshot wounds after being shot outside the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles. The incident followed another shooting in February 2017, when Young Dolph’s SUV was hit multiple times in Charlotte, North Carolina. Fellow Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta and two other men later turned themselves over to authorities. Dolph came out unscathed from the shooting.
