During an exclusive interview with VAdm Vinod Pasricha (Retd), when asked about the possibilities for the Indian Aircraft carriers in the South China sea and the challenges that they would face, Admiral Pasricha noted that India has always maintained the policy of not attacking any other country and therefore has the capability of being far enough into the ocean to prevent enemy submarines, ships and aircraft carriers to approach us well before they enter our waters.
India has adopted this policy for a long time, and unless it changes, there is no role for the Indian carriers to play in the South China Sea. The area is suitable for exchanging exercises with other world navies to become familiar with their way of operations. However, for us to operate in that region in any operational road is not the Indian way and also not advisable.
