Submarines are the first to be used in a naval war

The Submarines, like tanks in the army, are the first ones to be sent to battle for clearing the area for surface ships to operate. In an interview with Frontier India, Cmde Arun Kumar (retd.), a veteran submariner who served on India’s first nuclear submarine INS Chakra (Chakra 1), Foxtrot submarines, Sishumar submarines and Kilo submarines; and was the Principal Director Submarine Acquisition (PDSMAQ) at the NHQ during the acquisition of Scorpene submarine, spoke about the importance of submarines during the war.
